About the lab
In our lab, we study the biology of various fish species using an approach integrated with chemistry, physiology, genomics, and behavior. A major impetus for these endeavors is to develop effective and environmentally benign methods to control sea lamprey, a jawless vertebrate that invaded the Laurentian Great Lakes, and the primary model species for our research. Moreover, we attempt to infer the evolution of vertebrate animals through comparative studies on lamprey and teleost species.
